owner & lead designer
I can remember as a little girl walking to my Grandmother’s house and on my way I would “find” flowers to take to her. She would always smile when I presented her with a “found bouquet,” but the source of my gifts didn’t go unnoticed. We had a few awkward conversations where she would ask where I found the flowers, I would sheepishly reply, and with a smile my Grandmother would tell me I shouldn’t pick the neighbors’ flowers – and she was right. In hindsight I’m sure the neighbors didn’t appreciate my resourcefulness, but that was just the beginning of what became my calling.
As I got older I stopped stealing the neighbors’ flowers and started working with floral shops across the United States; first as an apprentice, then an intern, and eventually a designer. While working for different designers I started sharing my passion with friends and family and they started asking if they could hire me to create floral designs for their weddings, homes, or for their friends. In 2012, after years of dreaming about owning my own shop, I took the plunge and opened Flower Bar. Set to make an impact in this industry, I created the studio with the intentions of bringing back the design element of floral design. We don’t have a “recipe book,” we work with what is in season, and we never create the same design twice. To stay current I am always continuing my education and expanding my experience through floral design classes and certifications.
I pride myself in getting to know my clients and working with them to create a design that is both something they love and one that I am proud of. Every Flower Bar design conveys a feeling and is part of a moment ; and it’s my goal to perfectly capture that client's moment with the floral design. Since every event is unique, we will sit down and listen to all your likes (and dislikes), ideas, and style points to create an outline of the one-of-a-kind floral designs that will perfectly compliment your event.
